Mount Pleasant Farm BarnSelf-catering accomodation for 4 + 2This converted barn is set in the peaceful rural location just outside Chediston village near Halesworth, convenient for Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich, Minsmere and Snape Maltings as well as the attractive inland Suffolk countryside and rural villages.Set in twenty acres of peaceful woodland and paddocks belonging to Mount Pleasant Farm, this breathtaking thatched barn has been recently converted to a very high standard to provide spacious accommodation for a family or two couples.Neighbouring market towns and villages include Halesworth, Holton, Rumburgh, Beccles and Bungay. The towns have a good selection of local shops, pub, restaurants and farmers markets.The local railway stations are at Halesworth and Beccles.Mount Pleasant Farm sits in the gentle folds of the north east Suffolk landscape. The main farm house consists of a seventeenth century thatched cottage joined by a extension to a farm building, of around 1635, typical of Suffolk's agricultural heritage.The barn, also dating from about 1635, has been restored, leaving fabulous beams exposed from floor to ceiling. The original entrance doors have been glazed and now let huge amounts of light into the barn. At either end of the central thatched hall are two Victorian red brick extensions which house the additional living areas.Marked footpaths from the barn take walkers and cyclists through the beautiful surrounding countryside to the 'Munnings Trail' and many cycle paths.Three movable bookcases providing a wide range of fiction, non-fiction and reference books.Hi-fi, radio, tape, and CD player.Modern flat screen TV with freeview, DVD and VHS components and a small selection of media.A superb three-quatre sized slate snooker and pool table.A digital weighted-key piano.

This cottage sleeps four people and has two bedrooms consisting of one double and one twin, as well as a ground floor family bathroom. The cottage also has a fitted kitchen and a sitting room with a dining area and woodburning stove. Parking is available nearby and there are many attractions close by which makes Vine Cottage ideal for families and friends who wish to explore the area.Electric storage heaters with woodburning stove in sitting room. The self-catering accommodation comprises a double bedroom, a shower room including a shower cubicle with a strong seat and wall handles, toilet and basin.The lounge / diber is well equipped. It has a double sofa bed, comfy chairs, a table with four chairs, a television with DVD player and a music centre. There is no-smoking throughout the who;e property. The kitchen has all facilities - electric cooker, washing machine, fridge freezer, toaster, microwave, iron and ironing board. Heating is via electric storage radiators.Outside there id a summer house where bicycles can be stored, chairs tables and a barbecue. Guesta have access to their own part of the garden where there is a rotary clothes dryer also. All linen is provided and basics are stocked. There is plenty of parking space.The property is suitable for people of limited mobility,having ramps to doors.There is a gastro pub in the village. We have an outdoor swimming pool, which guests can use in the summer months by arrangement, having signed a disclaimer. The property is ideal for touring the local beauty spots, medieval woollen towns and coastal areas of Suffolk. The towns of Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, Cambridge and Colchester are all within easy reach. Short breaks are a possibility.

Roundwood House is a beautiful self-catering detached thatched holiday cottage. Believed to have been built in 1443, it comprises of the main house sleeping 6 to 8 and the annex sleeping 4, both self-contained with own private gardens, parking and entrances. The house is only a 5 minute drive from Lavenham and only 8 minutes from Bury St Edmunds. It is set well back from a quiet country lane, neatly tucked behind a row of weeping willows with a large duck pond.Recently refurbished with modern décor but still keeping its country feel and style, the sitting room is furnished beautifully with high quality furnishings. The main house and the annexe is ideal for families, couples or groups of friends looking for a holiday and wanting to explore the Suffolk area and relax in rural surroundings. Situated in the village of Cockfield, which has two pubs, a petrol station and a well stocked village store/post office, you have all you need for a truly relaxing experience.Sitting room furnished beautifully with high quality furnishings. Kitchen includes a range cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, butler sink and lovely solid oak worktops. There is a utility room with washing machine, sink and extra freezer space. Gardeners toilet with hand basin next to the wood store. Large lawned front garden, gravel drive and a secure garage for a car or cycles. There is a natural pond with wild ducks (we provide some seed for feeding!).

Sole Bay Cottage occupies a prime position on South Green, Southwold, offering views of the sea over the Green and is neighbour to the Red Lion public house. Southwold is renowned as the most English of traditional seaside towns; calming, steeped in history and architecturally interesting. The recently restored pier adds to the charm. Southwold has the Adnams brewery and their pubs serve excellent beers and food to a standard to match. Nearby are bird sanctuaries, heaths, marshes and the sandy beach stretches for miles. Southwold is an excellent destination for all times of year. The house provides ample accommodation for up to 8 persons, with the possibility of a ninth on a single futon. Subject to availability it might be possible to rent a friend's beach hut to coincide with bookings. The hut is close to the steps to the beach at South Green. On the ground floor of Sole Bay Cottage are the Sitting room, Dining room, Kitchen, a Shower room and a separate WC. On the first floor there is a double Bed / Sitting room, another double Bedroom and a single Bedroom as well as the Laundry room, Bathroom and Shower room which are reached through the "television room" in which is the single futon. The front basement room has a single bed and bunk beds. There is full gas central heating with instant hot water. Two colour TVs, with TV points in most rooms, a DVD/CD player, radio and a cot are provided. The interior is painted entirely in pale ochre, blues and white with strong colours gained from the upholstery of the furniture, cushions and Oriental rugs throughout all the rooms. The furniture is almost all of light timbers, Oak and Beech, giving a casual and relaxing feel. There is no garden, but the house is one of the few in Southwold with access to the beach without crossing a road. The rear yard is excellent for the storage of bicycles. Not all the rooms are shown in the photographs. We do insist on non-smoking tenants and unfortunately are not able to accept any pets. Weekly tenancies are usually from Saturday to Saturday but different days are possible by arrangement with the owners.

The cottage is suitable at all times of the year as there is electric heating in the kitchen and bedroom, underfloor heating in the bathroom and a wood burning stove in the lounge which keeps the whole place very warm. Towels and linen are provided. The kitchen has a Neff cooker, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and a washing machine if your stay is a long one. There is a small private patio and an affinity to chickens would be an advantage as we have some 30 bantams next to the cottage and a variety of fancy ducks and guinea pigs in our garden. The price per night is £50.00 and there is a minimum 2 night stay. The price per week is £300.00.
