It was licenced by the local Tourism Authority as being one of the best B&B (bed and breakfast) houses of Madeira Island. The land and patios around the house has trees and shrubs and fruits, swimming pool with 4 * 8 m mountain views.The lodge is situated on the outskirts of a village about 3 km from the mouth of the river Minho and the Village of Caminha. The rural environment is very quiet, part of the property is located in the ecological reserve of Portugal.The property is situated 900 m from the Coura River, a tributary of the Minho River, and just 100 m from Rio Tinto - it is possible to go directly from the property to rural ways that extend to the edge of the Moutains of Sierra de Agra.The Village Caminha 3 km away, has several supermarkets, restaurants (20), bars (20) and health center - it is possible to cross the Minho river by ferry-boat to visit Spain. The Beach Moledo, frst beach to the north of Portugal, an area of protected landscape, is 6km away, 10 to 15 minutes by car, allows rural and beach vacations simultaneously - it is also possible to swim and beach in Rio Coura. In the lodge is available a canoe with 2 or 3 places, guests can carry it to the Rio Coura if they want to make tours either towards the mouth of the river, either in the direction of Vilar de Mouros (Roman Bridge), without effort, according with the tides. In the house are available for guests to use 3 bicycles, which can be used on rural roads around the property.Next the housing there are companies that specialize in outdoor activities, with monitors, can be hiking on mountain trails or in the valley, biking tours, kayaking, surfing, body boarding, rafting, scuba diving etc.

A visit to picturesque villages like close by Monchique, the spa village of Caldas de Monchique and Silves are well worth a visit. We offer private and shared rooms in a heavenly environment.The Hostel was named Almáa which means “The Water” in Arabic due to the influence of the moors in this region and the fantastic natural spring water that supplies the house, the gardens and waters our home-grown organic vegetables. “Alma” also means soul in Portuguese.Our beliefs in sustainability and in helping one another, made us manufacture our furniture with recycled materials done by local artists with the help of third sector entities (charities, voluntary organizations and social enterprises), that are also our main suppliers.Our rooms range from 2 beds privates to shared 3, 5 and 8 beds made out of recycled pallets.
