Golf courses, tropical gardens and central Funchal all with only 10-15 minutes drive,The village of Caniço is about a 20 minute walk up hill or the buses run a regular service, supermarkets, chemist, post-office and a small shopping centre.At Reis Magos beach lays the ocean front promenade of Caniço de Baixo, all beaches are pebbled, but an area of Reis Magos beach has a small area of sand, The promenade is well lit and paved and makes a very nice walk.Funchal airport is 13km. Car hire is an option as there are hourly buses to Funchal and other eastern resorts. Taxis are reasonably priced.

But with excellent local restaurants close by (Trip Advisor 5 star), the great diversity in the nearby towns and the various local fishing villages such as Alvor, this is an experience not to be missed.Centrally located within the popular Western Algarve, you are perfectly placed to explore all the water sports and land based activities including golf & mountain walking, or take a step back in time to visit local ruins, churches etc.There are indoor/outdoor games to be played at the villa, plus gardening to do! This is an ideal location for a fun, relaxing family vacation.The accommodation is spacious and well laid out, with all the necessary amenities to provide a great vacation.The entrance has staircase to the 1st floor and also leads to the hallway with the guest shower room opposite the 1st bedroom, with views directly out to the pool. The kitchen and utility area is further down the hall with access to the back garden. The living & dining area has two patio doors which access the covered terrace with barbecue, that leads straight out to the pool. The 2nd bedroom leads from the living room and has doors to another covered terrace at the rear. On the first floor the first, ensuite, bedroom has patio doors leading to a narrow terrace with views overlooking the lush gardens, pool and countryside beyond. The large master bedroom has a terrace of generous proportions and a wonderful area to take in the southern aspect and day long Algarvian sunshine.The villa is accessed by one of 2 cobbled / stone driveways. Once in the villa all required facilities for those with mobility challenges are on the ground floor: access to bedrooms, shower room, kitchen, dining room and lounge. The pool and surrounding area are also readily accessed and are on a reasonably flat area.A variety of covered terraces overlook the 10m x 4m pool and established garden, providing a choice of shady eating areas or quite reading coves. The built in barbecue close to the covered 8 seater dining area provides a great focal point for lunches & dinners. There is ample quality outside furniture & sunbeds.By the pool side is an outside shower.There are two driveways leading to the house, with roofed, gated entrances. The fully fenced and stone walled plot ensures privacy and space, allowing the sun to be enjoyed at all times of the day.The abundance of mature trees, shrubs and hedges ensure lush, leafy green colours throughout the year, offering relief from the hot summer sun and privacy from neighbours. To the rear of the house there is a large wood store together with ambling stoned pathways meandering through cacti and planters.Under 20 mins drive to the beautiful shores of Alvor, with its abundance of beachside fish restaurants and quaint local shops.A similar distance is Praia da Rocha, by Portimão marina, a bustling vacation resort, with a vast beach alongside the Avenue, Tomás Cabreira which is full of restaurants, cafes & shops and is lively at night with a variety of bars & clubs. The Fortress of Santa Catarina de Ribamar was built in the 17th century as part of Portimão's defences against corsairs and pirates.Very close is the Alto Golf & Country Club, the last course designed by Sir Henry Cotton. which is under 1000m walking distance away from the villa.
