They are not log cabins really; what I mean is, they are not built of tree trunks notched at the ends so they fit together, with gaps stuffed with moss and mud to keep the arctic winds out. They are of timber construction and designed to capture the atmosphere of the surroundings. You do not have to gather damp wood to make a fire before you eat. (If you wish you can burn your meat over glowing charcoal.)
They are designed to look as natural as possible in a woodland setting. That is why we are keeping the number down to four. They are double glazed and centrally heated, so they are always warm and comfortable. Goldcrest and Pheasant have a lounge over thirteen feet square with a kitchen area off one end, with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, etc. In the lounge there is a dining table and chairs, a settee and easy chairs, coffee tables and of course a colour television. There is a bathroom with a standard sized bath, one bedroom with a double bed and one with two singles. Single beds are all 3 ft. wide and double beds are 4ft 6ins. Apart from the room with a double bed there is room for a wheel chair anywhere. All the bedroom furniture is built in. In the double room there is a wardrobe, dressing table and bedside tables. In the twin room the table between the beds doubles up as a dressing table. There is also locker space under the beds. The beds have blankets, not duvets.
Partridge and Kestrel are larger, having a larger lounge, one double and two twin rooms, a bathroom and a shower room with a toilet in each. They all have garden tables and chairs on the verandahs. The Cabins are all named after birds, which are regularly seen.
A separate building has a washing machine, tumble drier, ironing facilities and a pay phone for the use of the residents. We do not have a ‘Disability’ rating, but experience has shown that the Cabins are suitable for someone in a wheelchair with assistance.

The static caravans sleep up to six people and may be hired on a daily, weekend or weekly basis.
All are equipped with a television and have private toilet and shower facilities. Duvets, sheets and towels may be hired. Pillows, blankets and all gas and electricity are included in the price. The Deluxe caravans also have a microwave oven and radio.
We regret that the deluxe caravans are not available for smokers or visitors with dogs. If you are a smoker or dog-owner please advise us and we will accommodate you in one of our Luxury units.

Our self contained garden studio is attached to our home, a grade 11 listed Ropemakers cottage just a short walk from Bridport town centre. Sleeps 2 with deep mattress double bed , bistro table and chairs, 2 leather reclining chairs, TV with Satfreeview, DVD, digital radio with idock, wi-fi in main house. Kitchen The fully equipped kitchenette has fridge, microwave with grill, toaster and kettle. Modern continental breakfast including muesli, breads and jams are available and on arrival for self catering visitors. Oils, sauces and condiments are always provided along with a selection of fair-trade teas and coffee. Local homemade Dorset apple cake and tea on arrival in the summer. The kitchenette leads in to the shower room, with wc, hand basin and fitted shower. The bed can discretely fold to the wall fully made for additional space for day time activity especially useful for longer stays. Private Deck The studio has a private decked terrace with access to the spacious country apple garden, yoga studio and spa therapy room Bedroom The bedroom/living space has an electric wall heater with timer, a floor level fan heater is situated in the kitchen area and there is a heated towel rail in the shower room also a sky light window in the kitchen. Glass doors open on to the decked terrace from the living space, glass windows have both blinds and curtains. Ample space for clothes storage, hairdryer provided and washing machine and clothes dryer available on request in wash room. No smoking is allowed within the accommodation. Secure space for bicycles in the garden area. The property is on the ground floor, a folded wheel chair could be taken and used to access the garden, but at present it would not be possible to be pushed or drive directly to the garden studio. A small private decked patio is attached to the Garden Studio where you can enjoy meals or an evening sundowner. Access and usage of our country apple garden is available and enjoys the summer sun all day. A barbeque is available by arrangement and also a chimnea. The far end of the garden is also is the home of a yoga studio/teaching space and therapy spa room in a converted stable building dating back to around 1800. Here yoga and movement classes and complementary therapies and MLD take place. Guests can book sessions during their stay according to timetable and availability, 1:1 sessions or treatments can be reserved in advance. Contact Julia for more details and availability. We encourage an area of calm, enjoy bird song each morning and evening. There are numerous apple and fruit trees in the garden. Garden tables and chairs are available. Parking is on the road, or in close by St Michaels trading car park. The Garden Studios have been developed by Julia and Paul in the spacious gardens of their property in North Allington. They teach yoga and movement classes with many years of experience behind them. Paul, an artist, incorporates this work within workshops and weekend retreats/breaks. Julia practices a range of complementary therapies and is also a tutor. The Garden Studios allow a variety of activities , training and classes to happen in tranquil surroundings in the heart of Bridport town. The Garden Studios offers 3 areas, a yoga and movement space, also used for art exhibitions and training courses, meditation and day events. A therapy room offering a range of complementary therapies Self contained accommodation, chalet style attached to the outbuildings of our rope makers cottage. Ideal for an activity break or relaxing retreat or a few days enjoying the Dorset coast and countryside. The Garden Studios were developed from a converted 1800’s stable in the gardens of the rope makers cottages of North Allington. The stable building converted to a yoga and training space and also a therapy room which retains many of the original features whilst offering comfort and luxury accommodation.

There is a spacious kitchen with a full sized cooker a fridge with ice box in the toilet there is a shower cubical that is deep enough to bath a small child in. In the lounge there is a gas fire and a tv with free view box all quilts and pillows will be provided but you must bring your own linen. We want you to enjoy your stay.
