A lovely circular layout adds to the 'flow' of the house where living rooms interconnect with the Arts and Craft style kitchen which has a gas fired Aga, electric cooker and adjoining dining area. Three new state of the art bathrooms have been installed with walk-in showers and large bath. Two are en-suite. Beamed Entrance Porch and Reception Hall welcome you to this wonderful vacation home; set in country cottage gardens with many old varieties of flowers such as hollyhock and roses, tulips and daffodiiles adorn the lawns in spring. The riverside lawns stretch down to the river patio near the waters edge. Inside there is a captains cabin recontructed from a ship bound for Australia with wonderful carved ships figureheads and 17th century beams used on the outside. The Old Wharf Cottage is in a fantastic location as it is close to London, Royal Windsor and Heathrow with plenty of restaurants and attractions nearby.Beautiful thatched riverside cottage, named the 'Old Wharf Cottage' as once barges unloaded cargo of copper at the wharf, now the site of the outdoor heated swimming pool. It was originally built in 1903 in the Edwardian Era. The Arts and Crafts Movement between 1880 and 1910 influenced the owners many of them artists and sculptors themselves, and later arts and craft features were added including ornate plaster work around the bedroom cornice's,a coat of arms as you climb the oak staircase with carving depicted by aged red and green paints, much used by the Arts and Craft Movement-inspired by medieval colour and image seen in the works of the artist/designer William Morris.It is approximately 40 minutes drive or train journey from the centre of London with an array of sightseeing opportunities available to you. The Old Wharf Cottage is also just down the road from Royal Windsor and the magnificent Windsor Castle where the Queen spends her weekends.

Rodwell Head Farm is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful South Pennines area. If you are a family who enjoy the great outdoors, then this is the ideal vacation home for you. Step out of the front door and join one the many footpaths and packhorse trails linking ancient farmsteads, wooded cloughs with tumbling waterfalls, open fields and the wild Bronte moorland beyond. Come back to a crackling log fire and relax in grand but comfortable rooms, with many period features. Rooms and Facilities: Rodwell Head Farm is located on a country lane, Cross Stone Road, and has on street parking spaces for several cars. The house has gas central heating and an open fire in the sitting room. There is a gas Aga in the kitchen which is used during spring, autumn and winter months. It is a non-smoking house. Kitchen: The front door opens onto a large farmhouse dining kitchen, with fitted units, an Aga cooker (Used Sept-April only), electric cooker, microwave oven, fridge and belfast sink. The kitchen has an original stone floor so slippers are advised! The kitchen enjoys views through mullion windows across fields to the farmhouses beyond. [Access note: The kitchen is at the same level as the road outside. However, the kitchen is on a higher level than the remaining ground floor; there are two steps down from the kitchen to the living room and hallway. The stairs in the house are wide and gently-sloping. Bedrooms: Rodwell Head Farm has three double bedrooms (comprising three rooms each with double beds) the other two rooms are smaller, one has bunkbeds, the other has a single bed. A number of chairbeds are available; the smaller rooms can also accommodate a double chairbed or two single chairbeds. The chairbeds are light and can be moved to any room, as is required.There is also a cot. The two larger rooms have views to Stoodley Pike, a local landmark. The three smaller rooms have mullion windows and overlook the fields to the North West. Sheets, bedding and towels are normally provided. Living Room: The living room has adjoining double doors from the kitchen. It has two three-seater settees and a rocking chair. There is an open fire place which burns logs and coal (with child guard) and a television with freeview. Bathrooms/Shower Rooms: There is a shower room/toilet on the ground floor, a bathroom/toilet on the first floor and a separate saniflow toilet on the first floor. Dining Room: The Dining Room has a dining room table with six chairs and an upright piano. Utility Room: The utility room has a washing machine and a freezer. Garden: There is a good-sized walled (enclosed) rear garden that mostly consists of lawn, surrounded by established borders. There is a vegetable patch and herbs in the garden, as well as some fruit bushes. Garden furniture is provided - a large table and chairs but other furniture is available to augment this, if required. There is a swing and a slide for children. There is a catflap in the door leading to the garden. Surroundings: The house is surrounded by attractive Pennine countryside, comprising hills and steep sided wooded valleys, and canals and rivers in the valley bottoms. The house benefits from outstanding views and footpaths, bridle ways and tracks are accessible from the front door.

Little Music is a detached Cornish cottage, nestling in a peaceful location beside a stream in the historic Tywarnhayle valley with views towards the coast at Porthtowan and near the village of Mount Hawke. An abundance of wildlife inhabits the heather and gorse of the valley, including barn owls, skylarks, swallows and buzzards, and you may occasionally spot a peregrine falcon, heron, stoat or badger.Little Music is close to some of the finest beaches and coastal walks in the south west. You will find it the perfect place to unwind as well as a great base for exploring everything that Cornwall has to offer.Take your choice from its unique and dramatic scenery, broad sandy beaches, country pubs, grand houses and gardens, art galleries, great entertainment and good food.Little Music was converted from an old stable block in the traditional Cornish style with thick walls of local stone. It has a light and airy feel but is cosy even in the coolest months. The cottage comprises a lounge/dining room, kitchen, bathroom and double bedroom, all of a good size with ample storage space throughout to make your stay as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Electricity, oil-fired central heating and linen are included, together with free wireless Internet access.

Kittiwake is a family home situated 200m away from the sea, which has the Upper Deck available to rent. The Upper Deck is a self-contained first floor apartment, with 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms. A third and fourth family bedroom and bathroom are available downstairs if required. Entering the property feels like a home from home! Climbing the stairs you come into a dual aspect, spacious living area. Which benefits from a feature fireplace with electric fire, a large corner group sofa (witch converts to 2 single beds), and a TV with DVDs, books, and board games to enjoy throughout your stay.The kitchen is will equipped and features all modern appliances, including a washing machine, fridge- freezer, microwave and cooker. A large dining table can seat up to 8 for dinner.About the bedroom 1: The master suite is very spacious and features a sumptuous wrought iron bed with beautiful bedding (room for an additional single bed or cot, or 4 seated table). The full length double door window allows the sound of the country side to wake you in the morning and the sound of the waves to full you in to a deep sleep after dark. The en-suite bathroom, completed with a WC , bidet, shower and Jacuzzi bath, has everything you need to allow you to relax and unwind.Bedroom 2: Bedroom 2 is the smaller of the rooms and also features a sumptuous wrought iron bed with beautiful bedding. Bathroom 2 is found next door to bedroom 2 and features a skylight window above the bathtub to allow you to watch the stars as you bathe. There is also a WC, bidet, and shower mixer.About Your Hosts: Sue and Daved are your hosts and are always of hand to provide you with local information to help you get the most from your stay. Sue is a full time teacher at a local primary school and in her spare time provides courses in traditional willow basket weaving to guests ans visitors.

Historic Whitby (25 miles) is where Captain Cook is known to have learned his trade, and the town is also home to an ancient abbey and a colourful harbour and marina – boat trips from here provide excellent sea fishing. Spring demands a visit to the daffodil fields at Farndale – a truly magnificent sight to behold. Shalom House is set in the heart of beautiful Kent (the ‘Garden of England’), in Tenterden, (‘The Jewel of the Weald’). It is available both for family holidays, and groups who wish to get away together, or as a Christian Retreat centre. We provide spacious, well equipped, homely holiday accommodation in one of the most beautiful parts of England. Shalom House is also used as a Christian mini-retreat centre, when our aims are• To offer a simple and inexpensive place where small groups can retreat together to meet God and seek His Will• To provide a place of peace and rest for individuals• To be a place of healing• To offer listening, and supportive prayer, for those in need or at a cross roads in their life.Individuals are welcome for retreat in the first week of the month during school term times. Groups are welcome during the remainder of school terms. They may come for non-residential Away Days when up to 20 can be accommodated, or to stay for up to 3 days and nights, when 8 can be accommodated. For stays longer than this, holiday rates would apply.Retreats would normally be self-catering, but meals may be able to be provided by special arrangement. Family holidays are completely self-catering.AccommodationBedroom 1 has twin zip and link beds which, when joined together form a super-king sized bed. Bedside tables, and extensive hanging wardrobes and storage. One chair. It has an en-suite shower and toilet.Bedroom 2 has a Queen-sized double bed, bedside tables, hanging wardrobe and drawers, a chair and has an en-suite shower and toilet.Bedroom 3 has twin beds, a bedside table and corner shelf, an alcove which can be adapted to a desk, or used as addition storage, and a wardrobe with drawers. It shares a family bathroom with bedroom 4Bedroom 4 has a single bed and an optional guest bed stored under it. It has a desk and hanging wardrobe and drawers. It shares the family bathroom with bedroom 3.DownstairsBreakfast room. This adjoins the kitchen and the conservatory and is a cosy room with a TV, two reclining leather arm chairs and a round table that seats 8.Outside: The garden is secluded and peaceful, with a small adventure play corner, with swings, monkey ladder, trapeze, slide, and sand pit. A safe water feature and small garden pond is home to dozens of fish. There are plenty of recliners and a pergola with table and chairs for outside eating. If you need to be alone, then escape to the lovely summer house/chapel which offers a haven of peace and seclusion and is suitable for one or two people to escape to for private prayer.There are several quiet corners in the garden, where one can be alone, to reflect, read, pray or just meet with God. For a non-residential retreat, the bedrooms can be used for additional haven-space, or for a quiet area for preparation and study. There is a small library of books which can be borrowed throughout the retreat, several of which will aid meditation and reflection.
