There is an organic farm shop on the estate selling local organic and general produce. Hot food, firewood and wine. The cottage does have Wi-fi internet access.The pool is heated, and there’s also a sauna. Its shared and a short walk from the cottage. There is also a children play area, trampoline, tennis court, cricket nets and picnic area by the pool. Great area for cycle rides and walking, both round the estate and nearby area's.Property is next to the Thames path.The estate is very proud of its untouched nature reserves, and has areas of some significance when it comes to bird and wildlife.Late in 2005 the first European Beavers introduced back into England were released and are thriving in a far corner of the estate.There are viewing hides from where they can be watched.The estate is also home to a wide range of Bird life, from waterfowl to owls.Details of guided walks and the best spots are available from the property or the estate office.There is some excellent fishing on the estate, both coarse fishing and fly fishing.The coarse fishing is specialised and mostly specimen fishing, and the lakes would be classified as 'challenging' and not really suitable for beginners. Beamed Entrance Porch and Reception Hall welcome you to this wonderful vacation home; set in country cottage gardens with many old varieties of flowers such as hollyhock and roses, tulips and daffodiiles adorn the lawns in spring. The riverside lawns stretch down to the river patio near the waters edge. Inside there is a captains cabin recontructed from a ship bound for Australia with wonderful carved ships figureheads and 17th century beams used on the outside. The Old Wharf Cottage is in a fantastic location as it is close to London, Royal Windsor and Heathrow with plenty of restaurants and attractions nearby.Beautiful thatched riverside cottage, named the 'Old Wharf Cottage' as once barges unloaded cargo of copper at the wharf, now the site of the outdoor heated swimming pool. It was originally built in 1903 in the Edwardian Era. The Arts and Crafts Movement between 1880 and 1910 influenced the owners many of them artists and sculptors themselves, and later arts and craft features were added including ornate plaster work around the bedroom cornice's,a coat of arms as you climb the oak staircase with carving depicted by aged red and green paints, much used by the Arts and Craft Movement-inspired by medieval colour and image seen in the works of the artist/designer William Morris.It is approximately 40 minutes drive or train journey from the centre of London with an array of sightseeing opportunities available to you. Some of our guests come to explore those adjacent tourist magnets yet seduced by the local countryside never actually get there! In fact we have had some visitors who never moved from the cottage! At Stouphill Gate all our guests can be assured of a warm friendly welcome and lots of peace & tranquility. Stouphill Gate is a traditional old Cumbrian farmstead, and the holiday accommodation has been formed from the older parts of the property retaining much of the original character whilst benefiting from all of the modern conveniences. Welcome to Rowan House the family run guest house in Lancashire. Rowan House is a family run guest house in Colne Lancashire where quality and comfort is assured. Nearby to the ever popular Municipal hall with it's theatre, comedy and shows. Also within walking distance you will find the new Boundary Mill stores. Boundry Mills Colne Lancashire is only a short 10 minute walk from our guest house, the mill is a very large outlet store housing many retail names. This is possibly one of the most popular outlet mills in Lancashire. Colne Lancashire is the venue for the blues. Every August it hosts Britain's best rhythm and blues festival, attracting acts from all over the world. Book early for this, as it's getting busier and busier every year. All year round Colne Lancashire has a reputation for great pubs, ale and live music, and the main Colne Municipal Hall attracts some pretty prestigious acts, including recently Peter Green. Acess for the festival from our guest house is a five miniute walk to the heart of Lancashires famous blues weekend. Wycoller Country Park, as noted by the Brontes in their books, is one of the most beautiful Country Parks in Lancashire. Wycoller has many footpaths leading to local beauty spots such as Bank House and Wycoller Beck. It is only a short 10 minute drive 3.5 miles from our bed and breakfast.

The bedrooms on the first floor are reached by the old winding stone staircase, an interesting and original feature of the property. After 250 years of use some of the steps are nicely worn and along with the narrowness and steepness this staircase at first looks quite daunting to use however all our guests have, by the end of their stay, become used to negotiating this historic feature. Originally the whole of this floor would have been one room open to the roof, with heat provided by the kitchen downstairs and a small fireplace on this floor. Privacy would only have been provided by hanging drapes. Now there are two bedrooms on this floor and both come with window seats so that the view from the windows may be enjoyed to the full.

The room is fitted to the highest standards including Oak flooring, king sized bed, wall mounted LCD television and Velux roof window with remote controlled blind. The Old Engineers House is an immaculate Edwardian four bedroom detached house set in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside. The property is just over 6 miles from the Cathedral city of Canterbury and provides easy access to the Kent Coast, including the fishing town of Whitstable famed for its oysters, Broadstairs with its Dickensian connections, and Dover with its famous castle. There are numerous golf courses within easy reach including Royal St George’s at Sandwich and Chart Hills and if you fancy nipping over to France for the day the Channel Tunnel is just over 30 minutes drive away. Springfield Holiday Cottage is set in the courtyard of the charming 19th century farmhouse, situated in the Lincolnshire Wolds village of Benniworth.Springfield Farm is run by Margaret Pinney. It is a small working farm and livery housing up to eleven horses and therefore if you wish to bring your horse there are stables and grazing available.Enjoy horse-riding, walking and cycling in the wonderful Lincolnshire Wolds countryside, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).In Springtime the lambs and foals are a wonderful sight to behold and the gardens spring in to magnificence, a beautiful place to wander or sit the sunshine (the gardens are open to the general public on occasions throughout the Spring and Summer).The cottage, which sleeps two people (there is also a convertible sofa/bed in the lounge that could be used), has been recently converted and tastefully decorated to a high standard and awarded the Rosebud (ETC and ELDC quality grading).
