The Area: Edmonton is on the fringe of Wadebridge, one of North Cornwall's main market towns and gateway to the Camel Trail, now the third largest attraction in the whole of Cornwall. This centrally located town has much to offer visitors of all ages and interests all year round. Edmonton has a great pub called The Quarryman - famous for its sizzling steaks!
Walking: The Camel Trail provides easy walking for young and old, with beautiful countryside all around it and the Trail being flat. For the more adventurous, Bodmin Moor is only 15 miles away and has many places of interest along with some challenging walking areas. Wadebridge is also on the famous Saints Way, a 16 mile cross country path, forged in ancient times by Celtic Saints between Padstow and Fowey. There are also spectacular coastal walks within a few miles of Wadebridge.
Outdoor Sports: Rock is only a few miles away and offers a wide range of watersports, including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and paracending. There are also various riding stables in the area. Four miles away is the Cornwall Karting indoor racing track at Retallack. Not to be missed are the numerous beautiful golden beaches, all along the north coast and three golf courses close by at Trevose, Constantine and Bodmin.

The granary is the conversion of the old roundhouse and grain barn completed in spring 2004. We have tried to do this as sympathetically as possible all the floors upstairs, in the bedrooms downstairs and in the roundhouse are wooden and the roof trusses have been left exposed. We have included dormer windows in the upstairs bedrooms to give extra space and better views which are of the rolling countryside and Hartland across the valley. The barn was last re roofed in the 1890s by the great Uncle of one of the builders involved in the latest conversion so there is considerable history with this barn. The roundhouse part, as the name implies is semi circular in shape and is now the sitting and dining area measuring some 22 feet across, this is where many years ago the horse would walk around to drive the machinery. The property comprises four bedrooms 2 doubles upstairs, two twins downstairs. There is a shower room with w/c & basin upstairs with the main bathroom with bath, shower, WC and washbasin downstairs. Lily Pad is a charming, yet spacious ground floor apartment, approached through its own large sunny front garden which leads through double French doors to its large light and comfortable sitting/dinning room with large TV and CD player and very comfortable seating , onto its extremely well equipped modern practical shaker style kitchen, through to the light modern shower room, or straight ahead to the luxurious bedroom with its own sunny stone courtyard at the rear.
Lily Pad has its own off road parking area, is wireless internet connected for those who need to keep in touch with the outside world, it has a very efficient central heating system, a log effect electric wood burning stove a TV with satellite, DVD player, radio and music system, and a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, microwave, hob, cooker and grill, and plenty of cupboard space.
Bedding, linen, loo rolls, washing-up liquid, soap, tea and coffee are all included on arrival. Lily pad is a magic mix of modern practicality, Victorian style and comfort mixed with just a tad of opulence, perfect for relaxing and romancing. Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement at no extra charge. Our week long breaks usually start on Saturdays but we are able to be extremely flexible and we also encourage short breaks (3 day minimum). Two steps down into Lily Pad make it not ideal for those with disabilities.
Lily Pad is just 4 minutes walk from the moor and 8 minutes walk from the town center which makes it ideal for walkers, cyclists, bird watchers and all those who love the countryside, yet enjoy the convenience of all that a small town has to offer, such as our small and intimate cinema, Waitrose supermarket, swimming pool and sports center, 2 golf courses, mountain bike courses through the woods, the granite way cycle path (with bike hire), choice of pubs and restaurants, The Arts Gallery full of locally sourced quality arts and crafts, the museum of rural crafts, the auction rooms, three great antique shops, quality butchers and bakers, a library and Okehampton even has its own Castle!
