The riverside lawns stretch down to the river patio near the waters edge. Inside there is a captains cabin recontructed from a ship bound for Australia with wonderful carved ships figureheads and 17th century beams used on the outside. The Old Wharf Cottage is in a fantastic location as it is close to London, Royal Windsor and Heathrow with plenty of restaurants and attractions nearby.Beautiful thatched riverside cottage, named the 'Old Wharf Cottage' as once barges unloaded cargo of copper at the wharf, now the site of the outdoor heated swimming pool. It was originally built in 1903 in the Edwardian Era. The Arts and Crafts Movement between 1880 and 1910 influenced the owners many of them artists and sculptors themselves, and later arts and craft features were added including ornate plaster work around the bedroom cornice's,a coat of arms as you climb the oak staircase with carving depicted by aged red and green paints, much used by the Arts and Craft Movement-inspired by medieval colour and image seen in the works of the artist/designer William Morris.It is approximately 40 minutes drive or train journey from the centre of London with an array of sightseeing opportunities available to you. Camel View is situated about half a mile from the A39 near Wadebridge and its supermarkets, independent shops and of course The Camel Trail!
The Area: Edmonton is on the fringe of Wadebridge, one of North Cornwall's main market towns and gateway to the Camel Trail, now the third largest attraction in the whole of Cornwall. This centrally located town has much to offer visitors of all ages and interests all year round. Edmonton has a great pub called The Quarryman - famous for its sizzling steaks!
Walking: The Camel Trail provides easy walking for young and old, with beautiful countryside all around it and the Trail being flat. For the more adventurous, Bodmin Moor is only 15 miles away and has many places of interest along with some challenging walking areas. Wadebridge is also on the famous Saints Way, a 16 mile cross country path, forged in ancient times by Celtic Saints between Padstow and Fowey. There are also spectacular coastal walks within a few miles of Wadebridge.
Outdoor Sports: Rock is only a few miles away and offers a wide range of watersports, including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and paracending. There are also various riding stables in the area. Four miles away is the Cornwall Karting indoor racing track at Retallack. Not to be missed are the numerous beautiful golden beaches, all along the north coast and three golf courses close by at Trevose, Constantine and Bodmin.

If you are travelling on the M6, come off the motorway at junction 38 (Tebay) take the A685 to Scotch Corner, Brough and Kirkby Stephen, travel along the road approximately 5 miles you will see the sign Newbiggin on Lune, and an island in the middle of the road, turn left up the hill, signposted Great Asby, over the cattle grid, after 200 meters turn left at the Ashley Bank sign, just past the bungalow on the right.
If coming from Scotch corner and Kirkby Stephen, travel on the A685, when you see the sign Newbiggin on Lune, do not go into the village pass it on the left, then turn right in front of the traffic island up the hill, take the great Asby road and follow the instructions as above.
If travelling by Train, the nearest station is Kirkby Stephen 5 miles away, (Settle/Carlisle line) and if travelling from the south, Oxenholme 16 miles, and from the north, Penrith 19 miles.
