This private, exclusive use only luxury riad is the perfect place to experience the wonders of Marrakech. A peaceful haven hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but only 8 minutes walk from the main square, souks, historical sites and restaurants, etc. The house is a modest palace, a full size 4 sided house designed around an inner central courtyard with its bubbling traditional fountain. The house was recently redesigned, restored and decorated in stunning traditional style, but to modern standards of luxury, comfort and convenience. There are three generous bedroom suites, all with large double beds, luxurious en-suite bathrooms and seating areas, air conditioning (heating in winter) and wardrobe space. The Pharaohs, Alexander the Great and the Romans all left their mark in this area. The Muslims conquered Egypt in 641 AD the beginning of the spread of Islam across to North Africa. Mt Sinai is also mentioned in the Quran. At the foot of the mountain is the monastery of St Katherine - the world oldest inhabited monastery. The three and a half weeks went by really quickly, but we savored every single day, taking time for ourselves and time to get to know the country with the eyes of children.
